Acute malignant marburg type multiple sclerosis

Acute malignant marburg type, a multiple sclerosis (MS) variant, is an acute demyelinating process typically seen in younger patients. Symptoms may be preceded by fevers. Disease progresses rapidly and may even result in death. Extensive demyelination is seen on imaging with acute areas of demyelination which may have defined rings and incomplete ring enhancement ¹.
