Cardiomyopathy 1995 WHO classification
A cardiomyopathy is defined as a "disease of the myocardium with associated cardiac dysfunction". It has been classified according to the 1995 WHO/ ISFC system as follows.
- dilated cardiomyopathy
- hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
- restrictive cardiomyopathy
- arrthymogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy
- specific cardiomyopathy
- non classified cardiomyopathy (includes fibroelastosis, mildly dilated cardiomyopathy, non compacted myocardium and mitochondrial cardiomyopathy)
