Laryngeal sub sites

The larynx is divided into three sub sides for the purposes of staging (see staging of laryngeal SCC). They are:

supraglottis
- false vocal cords
- arytenoid cartilages
- epiglottis, which is divided into suprahyoid and infrahyoid portions
- aryepiglotic folds

glottis
- true vocal cords
- anterior commissure
- posterior commissure

subglottis
- from the inferior aspect of the the glottis to the first tracheal ring
