The 'lingual tonsils' are aggregations of lymphoid follicles which mediate B and T cell lymphocytes which serve a role in formulating the immune system. They are covered in stratified squamous non-keratinized epithelium.
Location:
Posteriorposterior third of dorsum of tongue.
Blood Supply:
1. Linguallingual Artery (branch of the external carotid artery)-
