Pulsatile tinnitus

The clinical symptom of pulsatile tinnitus can occur from a number of causes. They include
- dehiscent jugular bulb
- high riding jugular bulb
- carotid arterial stenosis
- carotid occlusion / dissection
- carotid fibromuscular dysplasia
- persistent stapedial artery
- aberrant internal carotid artery
- lateralised internal carotid artery
- benign intracranial hypertension
- laterally placed sigmoid sinus
- jugular venous stenosis
- venous diverticulum
- abnormal mastoid emissary veins
- paraganglioma
- dural arteriovenous fistula (dAVF)
- caroticocavernous fistula
