Reuse of content from user's prior publications

Re-use of content from user's prior publications is in generally discouraged as Radiopaedia.org is about creating an original open access resource representing mainstream accepted medical practice rather than serving as a forum for self-promotion. Having said that, there are situations in which content that has been previously published (e.g. cases or flow charts or tables) are suitable and useful. 

If you are contemplating publishing on Radiopaedia.org material you have published previously elsewhere first ask yourself honestly if your motivations for uploading the content is primarily self-promotion. If so, please stop and do this instead on other sites (e.g. LinkedIn and ResearchGate etc...). Radiopaedia.org is not the place for you. 

If your motivations are pure, then please ensure that: 

1. the content is of benefit to the site (i.e. similar content does not exist already and/or obtaining original content would not be easy)
2. the content represents a mainstream accepted approach rather than a controversial or unproven hypothesis/approach
3. the fact that this content has been previously published is clearly stated in the case discussion
4. the fact that you are the original author is clearly stated (if you are not, please see re-use of content from open access journals or clearly state who the author is.
5. the fact that you have explicit permission to reproduce it has been granted
6. the original source is clearly credited in the reference section of the case
7. a link to the original content can be included in the reference
