Superficial veins of the brain
Superficial veins of the brain predominantly drain the cerebral cortex, and include:
- superior cerebral veins (aka superficial cerebral veins)
- inferior cerebral veins
- superficial middle cerebral veins
- superior anastamotic vein (of Trolard)
- inferior anastomotic vein (of Labbe)
Some also include the dural venous sinuses that are on the 'surface' of the brain (i.e. all except straight and inferior sagittal sinus). Here they are treated separately.
