Presentation

Incidental hyperechoic lesion on ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
mri

Sharply delineated round lesion neighboring the gallbladder with signal loss on spectral fat sat and opposed-phase chemical shift images. Moderate enhancement after contrast (from 200 to 300 arbitrary units).

Case Discussion

In a lesion with predominant fat content, the diagnosis can be made with a relatively high degree of certainty. However, fat inclusions have also been described in hepatocellular carcinomas.
