Presentation

Stomped on by another child, limping and unable to weight bear.

Patient Data

Age: 6 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

The navicular bone is fragmented, sclerotic and collapsed with associated overlying soft tissue swelling.  

The rest of the forefoot and mid foot bones are unremarkable.

Kohler disease is the eponymous name for avascular necrosis of the navicular in pediatric patients.
