Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

Diffusely sclerotic L3 vertebral body.

No vertebral body fracture.  Normal alignment.

Case Discussion

In practice, the most common cause of an ivory vertebra is a sclerotic metastasis, typically from the prostate in men and the breast in women.

Not all ivory vertebra are from malignancy, such as Paget disease.
