Presentation

Bilateral flank pain

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

Abdomen

ct

A well defined oval-shaped fat density lesion is present in cul-de-sac on right side showing internal soft tissue attenuation and small eccentric calcification. Anteromedially it is abutting uterus while posteromedially it is abutting rectum. This is suggestive of right ovarian dermoid cyst.

Two tiny calcified phleboliths are noted in right hemipelvis.

The left lobe of the liver is reaching the left hypochondrial region (beaver tail). A small fluid attenuation lesion is noted in segment II of the liver measuring 6.0 x 5.0 mm suggestive of a benign cyst.

Hyperdense debris is seen within lumen of the appendix.

Case Discussion

This young female patient underwent CT of the abdomen for bilateral flank pain. Right ovarian dermoid cyst was incidentally detected.
