MRA of the thoracic aorta was prescribed by the attending cardiologist in a 60 year old woman with a widened aortic root on echocardiography.

Case Discussion:

The aberrant right subclavian artery arises as the last vessel from the aortic arch and crosses over to the right side, mostly between the upper oesophagus and the spine. Here, it can cause difficulty of swallowing (dysphagia lusoria).
