Acetabular labral tear

Presentation:

A professional soccer player had to pause training for painfully limited left hip movement. Xrays, ultrasound and MRI were inconclusive. An MR arthrogram was prescribed.

Case Discussion:

The MR arthrogram showed contrast entering an extensive cleavage tear of the acetabular labrum. There was no labral dislocation but massive degeneration.
