Achilles tendon tear

Presentation:

Trauma while sports - 1 day before. Clinical diagnosis of achillis tear. No radiograph available.

Patient Data:

Age: 45 - 50 yrs
Gender: Male
Race: Indian/Pakistani
Modality: Ultrasound

Complete tear of achillis tendon is noted approximately  8 cm away from insertion site. Maximum gap between two tendon edges is 20 mm on dorsi flexion.  Distal tendon shows thickening ( 10 mm ) with mild hypoechoic echopattern - Mild tendinosis.
