Acromial keel spur

Rotator cuff syndrome.

Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian
Modality: MRI

AC joint osteoarthritis and severe supraspinatus tendinosis. There is an oblong spur at the acromial insertion of the coracoacromial ligament directed antero-medially and inferiorly.

Case Discussion:

A subacromial keel is a spur on the anterior under-surface of the acromion, that is formed like the keel of a sailboat. It is highly associated with rotator cuff damage and tear1.
