Cor T2 MRI of the upper abdomenThese images are part of an MRCP examination. One of the most striking findings is the typical "pearl necklace sign" of the gallbladder. A mild fluid effusion is seen around the pancreas, typical for acute pancreatitis.
The pearl necklace sign alludes to the characteristically curvilinear arrangement of multiple rounded hyperintense intraluminal cavities visualized at T2-weighted MR imaging and MR cholangiopancreatography of adenomyomatosis.
