Case contributed by: Dr Carlos Eduardo Anselmi

Presentation:

Memory deficit

Modality: Nuclear medicine

Case Discussion:

Brain perfusion with 99mTc-ECD shows bilateral temporoparietal hypoperfusion.

Different perfusion patterns have the following probabilities of AD:

  • Normal: 19%
  • Bilateral temporoparietal hypoperfusion: 82%
  • Bilateral temporoparietal hypoperfusion and other defects: 77%
  • Unilateral temporoparietal hypoperfusion: 57%
  • Frontal hypoperfusion: 43%
