Ameloblastic fibro-odontoma

Presentation:

Virtually painless swelling of the left upper jaw for about 4 years.

Patient Data:

Age: 21
Gender: Female
Race: Asian
Modality: CT

Lucent lesion with irregular radioopaque inclusions and massive sclerosis of the left maxilla enclosing three unerupted teeth.

Case Discussion:

This rare odontogenic lesion typically develops before the age of 20 and has a predilection for the premolar region. According to the WHO classification, it has similar histological features to ameloblastic fibroma, but with inductive changes that lead to the formation of dentin or enamel.
