Leg deformity since birth.

Patient Data

Age: 21 months
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is mid diaphyseal convergent bowing of the tibia and fibula with synostosis over a 2.5 cm length. There is associated concentric soft tissue contraction overlying this region.

Case Discussion

Appearances are those of amniotic band syndrome, the result of in utero entrapment of the limb by a fibrous amniotic band.
