Presentation

Presents with progressive weakness.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

MRI demonstrates increased T2 signal within  the posterior part of the internal capsule and can be tracked to the subcortical white matter of the motor cortex.  

On susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) signal drop out is seen along the cortex of the precentral gyrus. Features are consistent with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
