Apple core sign

Presentation:

55 year old male with abdominal pain and sanguinolent stool.

Modality: Barium

Case Discussion:

55 year old, male patient with history of sanguinolent stool. Barium enema was made and showed the Apple core sign in the distal portion of the descendant colon. This sign is typical of colorectal carcinoma wich produces eccentric thickening of the colon wall. Obstruction is a common finding.
