Artery of Percheron Infarct

Presentation:

79 year old male with sudden onset of diplopia.

Modality: MRI

Case Discussion:

MR brain FLAIR sequences show ill defined hyperintensity in the mid brain and symmetric hyperintensities in the posteriomedial thalami.

These changes confirm to the territory of artery of Percheron.

Diagnosis: Artery of Percheron infarct.

Artery of Percheron is a rare single common artery supplying the rostral mesencephalon and medial thalami.
