AVM bleeding - cerebral

Case contributed by: Dr Stefan Ludwig

Presentation:

50 year old male with acute onset of severe headache.

Patient Data:

Age: 50
Gender: Male

Case Discussion:

Cranial CT shows Intracerebral hemorrhage in the right occipital lobe and extension of parenchymal bleeding into the ventricles.

Because of it's atypical location, a cerebral angiography was performed.

It shows an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) fed by the right posterior cerebral artery and is drained by a single vein into the superior sagittal sinus.
