Bilateral macular calcification

Elderly patient. Incidental finding

Modality: CT

Case Discussion:

CT through the orbits demonstrates bilateral calcifications located at the site of the macula. This is consistent with age related macular degeneration with calcified drusen - (Bruch membrane drusen of the retina) (Drusen is more common at the optic nerve head).
