  • Left breast - 6 o'clock. Ill defined mass with angular margins, echogenic rind, taller-than-wide orientation and dense posterior shaddowing, which corresponds to the mammographic abnormality.

Case Discussion:

Mammography demonstrates a region of architectural distortion and pleomorphic calcification.  

Corresponding finding of a spiculated mass on ultrasound.

Pathology report:

Poorly differentiated (Grade III) ductal carcinoma fn NOS with focal mucin secretion and probable lobular differentiation.  Associated intermediate grade DCIS with microcalcification.
