Case Discussion
Bronchogenic cyst is a benign cystic formation consisting of a lung disease caused by an abnormal intrauterine growth retardation of the bronchial tree. The cysts may be mediastinal, intrapulmonary, pericardial, retroperitoneal, and skin.
the bronchogenic cyst may be asymptomatic and be discovered with a chest x-ray or can cause shortness of breath, chest pain, dysphagia
The treatment is surgery with complete removal of the cyst, urgent in infants with important respiratory failure.
Surgery is also indicated without symptoms because the bronchogenic cyst can become infected, grow and degenerate
