Fall from height a week ago.

Patient Data:

Age: 78
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian

Case Discussion:

Burst fracture occurs when vertebral body is severely compressed. Normally on several trauma, such as a motor vehicle accident or a fall from a height. With a great deal of force vertically onto the spine, a vertebra may be crushed.

Schmorl nodes refer to protrusions of the cartilage of the intervertebral disc through the vertebral body endplate and into the adjacent vertebra.
