Case contributed by Hasan Hussein Hasan Almaiah
Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Trauma with incidental finding.

Patient Data

Age: 18 years
Gender: Male

A heavily calcified mass lesion is noted in the left cerebellar hemisphere, causing mild mass-effect upon the fourth ventricle, without surrounding edema or hydrocephaly.

There is a well-defined intra-axial left cerebellar hemisphere lesion, which appears hypointense on both T2 and FLAIR weighted images with blooming artefact and minimal surrounding edema. The mass causes mild mass-effect upon the fourth ventricle without evidence of hydrocephalus.

After intravenous contrast administration, there is evidence of heterogenous enhancement.

Case Discussion

These finding are suggesting a rare entity called calcifying pseudoneoplasm of neuraxis (CAPNON).
