A 39 year old lactating patient presents with a palpable mass 2 o'clock left breast March 2014.
Patient Data
Initial imaging shows a solid, poorly defined lesion 2 0' clock left breast.
The lesion has flow in Doppler imaging. On real time imaging the lesion is not compressible.
As a result of the ultrasound images, a mammogram was obtained. The patient has a poorly defined spiculated lesion upper outer quadrant left breast.
After 4 months of neoadjuvant therapy the lesion has decreased in size by a significant volume. In transverse diameter the dimension is a third of the March measurement.
Needle localization just before surery after 4 months of neoadjuvant therapy. Positive response clinically and on imaging. The lesion has decreased in size quite spectacularly.
Case Discussion
A spectacular response to neoadjuvant therapy in a young patient with a large left breast carcinoma. The lesion is now amenable to surgery with acceptable cosmetic results.
