An incidental left parietal lobe paramedian intra axial space occupying lesion that displays mixed signal intensity on T1 and T2 with hypointense T2 rim consistent with hemosiderin deposition. T2 GRE shows typical blooming artefact and SWI is the sequence in choice now to detect capillary telangectasia. No surrounding edema or mass effect.
Case Discussion
Cavernomas are a low flow vascular malformation that are usually asymptomatic unless hemorrhage occurs or being in a vital / eloquent location e.g. medial temporal lobe or brainstem.
