Chiari 1 malformation measures up to 7-8 mm below the foramen magnum, with slight medullary effacement persisting.

No parenchymal signal abnormality, cervical syrinx or hydrocephalus is demonstrated, with the remainder of the brain parenchyma and CSF spaces lying within normal limits.
