Case Discussion:

X-ray of the knee of a 13 year old female demonstrates irregularity of the subchondral surface in the mid portion of the patella.

MRI confirms the presence of cartilage irregularity with a central defect associated with bony change and oedema.

Features are consistent with chondromalacia patella.
