A middle aged man presented with gradually increasing swelling over right upper thigh.

Patient Data:

Gender: Male
Race: Asian
Modality: X-ray

Radiographs of pelvis showing large exophytic growth arrising from right iliac bone with chondroid matrix.

Case Discussion:

Chondrosarcoma is a cartilaginous origin tumour which typically arises in adult patients, and pelvic involvement is not uncommon.

This case, which likely arose from an osteochondroma, shows the charactristic ' rings and arcs" pattern of calcification.
