Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP)

Case contributed by Frank Gaillard
Diagnosis probable

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

MRI demonstrates thickening and clumping of cauda equina nerve roots.

Case Discussion

This patient apparently had chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) confirmed on nerve biopsy. Clumping of nerves is also seen arachnoiditis and leptomeningeal carcinomatosis. Post-contrast images, not available for this case, would be useful.
