Fractures of the most caudal part of the sacrum through S5 extending in the sacrococcygeal joint. Associated considerable presacral and precoccygeal hematoma. The posterior aspect of L1 vertebral body shows retropulsed fracture.

Case Discussion

Fractures of the coccyx are considered a secondary cause of coccydynia. This very close fracture, extending in the sacrococcygeal joint is not hard to imagine to be a possible cause of coccydynia as well.
