Colles fracture

Presentation:

Fell while walking to church. Sore wrist.

Patient Data:

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian
Modality: X-ray

Transverse fracture through the distal radius is demonstrated associated with approximately 20 degrees of dorsal angulation. No articular involvement. No ulnar styloid fracture. 

4 months later

Modality: X-ray

The fracture has healed with a residual dorsal angulation. 

Case Discussion:

This case demonstrates a typical Colles fracture, with resultant suboptimal union.
