Congenital vascular malformation in the true pelvis

Presentation:

Prostatic "cysts" detected on ultrasound.

Patient Data:

Age: 62
Gender: Male
Race: Caucasian

Bilateral dilated, contorted vessels in the internal iliac territory with flow-related black blood phenomena, allowing differentiation from cysts or lymphoceles. Arteriovenous shunting was later excluded by conventional DSA (not shown).

Case Discussion:

This was classified as a combined venous (predominantly) and capillary malformation based on the Hamburg classification.
