CT follow-up demonstrates corpus callosum hypodensity and with normal thickness. Ventricular shunt in situ.
Case Discussion
A 75-year-old female with obstructive hydrocephalus caused by neurocysticercosis.
The initial MRI demonstrates a thinned and stretched corpus callosum. At the CT follow-up, the corpus callosum becomes hypodense and with normal thickness.
The long-standing compression of the corpus callosum fibers caused by hydrocephalus leads to signal and density changes, better seen following shunt insertion.
