Chronic productive cough. History of unspecified chest problems as a child.

Age: 40
Gender: Male
ct

BIlateral lobe cystic change, related to the tracheobronchial tree.

More minor right upper lobe bronchiectasis.

Several of the cystic spaces have dependent air-fluid levels within.

Case Discussion

Bronchiectasis can occur as a result of a number of causes - childhood infection being one of the most common.

It has various forms - one of which is cystic bronchiectasis.

Patients typically get recurrent infections - especially with static cystic spaces - illustrated in this case with a air-fluid within,
