Bowel loops are seen projected anteriorly within the mediastinum. The location and features are not those of a hiatus hernia and anterior acquired diaphragmatic hernia should be considered.
Case Discussion
This case illustrates a probable acquired anterior diaphragmatic hernia. Depending on the location and size of the defect, retroperitoneal or intra-abdominal organs may prolapse into the thoracic cavity.
