Distal radius torus fracture

Presentation

Direct axial force injury to the left arm. Pain and swelling distal radius with no deformity.

Age: 8
Gender: Female
x-ray

There is a torus fracture of the lateral / volar cortex of the distal radial metaphysis. This is associated with a faint lucent line crossing through the lateral cortex and extending obliquely to the distal metaphysis. No displacement is identified. There is no significant associated angulation. There is minor associated soft tissue swelling. There is no dislocation or subluxation of the wrist joint.
