Selected images from an MRI demonstrating both typical appearances and location of an epidermoid cyst. The mass extends into the midline, completely encasing the basilar artery. It is hyperintense on T2 weighted image and hypointense on T1WI. The mass shows high signal on DWI.
Case Discussion
This is a very characteristic appearance of epidermoid cysts. Note the complete encasement of the basilar artery, best seen on the T2 weighted image.
