Case Discussion

The lumbrical muscles (LL) act as flexors at the MCP and as extensors at the IP joints. The dorsal interossei (IO) assist the lumbricals in this function. Their main function is to abduct (dorsal IO) or adduct (palmar IO) the fingers.
