Presentation

Wood splinter injury on wrist since 15 days.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

No radio-opaque foreign body detected.

ultrasound

A horizontally oriented wood splinter (6 mm in length) is seen in the wrist; deep to extensor digitorum. It abuts a bone of distal carpal raw.

Effusion with synovial thickening is seen involving intercarpal joints.
