Foreign body in hand

Presentation:

C/o wood spinter injury - wrist - 15 days back.

Patient Data:

Age: 45 yrs
Gender: Female
Race: Indian/Pakistani
Modality: X-ray
Modality: Ultrasound

Case Discussion:

A horizontally oriented wood splinter ( 6 mm length ) is seen in wrist; deep to extensor digitoum. It abutts bone - distal carpal raw.

 Effusion with synovial thickening is seen involving intercarpal joints.

Surgically removed.
