Foreign body induced synovitis

Presentation:

Wood splinter injury - Hand - 2 mths. O/E - 3rd MCP joint region swelling on dorsal aspect.

Patient Data:

Gender: Male
Race: Indian/Pakistani
Modality: X-ray
Modality: Ultrasound

Multiple linear echogenic foci are noted in 3rd MCP joint. Synovial thickening is present with hypervascularity. 2 mm focus is noted within synovium on palmer side. Echoes are noted in effusion.  ON traction, free movement of foreign bodies is noted.
