Presentation

Adult patient brought unconscious to our ED by Ambulance.

Patient Data

Age: Adult
Gender: Male

Global cerebral ischemia: T2, Flair and DWI show diffuse cortical hyperintensity and increased gray-white matter contrast. Tonsillar herniation is seen on the sagittal T1. 

TOF MRA showing normal flow within all major intracranial vessels.  

Case Discussion

Diffuse cerebral edema raising the intracranial pressure with caudal herniation of the cerebellar tonsils through Foramen Magnum

EEG was flat.
