Gouty tendinopathic change

Presentation

48 year old with known gout presents with lumpy swelling dorsum of middle finger right hand.

Patient Data

Age: 48
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Typical lumpy echogenic soft tissue deposits (tophi) in the extensor tendon with some hyperemia.

Case Discussion

This patient also had multiple punched-out bone erosions and other soft tissue tophi.

Tendon involvement is rare in my experience.
