Chronic anterior knee pain when running or climbing. History of ACL repair.

Patient Data:

Age: 38
Gender: Male
Race: Black/African American
Modality: MRI

Unsharp "villous" contours and hyperintensity of the cartilage on the medial retropatellar surface. Joint effusion. No subchondral cysts or oedema.

Case Discussion:

These findings would correspond to chondral fibrillation on arthroscopy.
