Presentation

Right hypochondrial pain.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

Cirrhotic liver with multifocal hepatic masses, the largest is exophytic at segment 6. They show heterogeneous hyperenhancement on arterial phase with washout on portovenous and delayed phases. The largest lesion shows irregular central breakdown. Features are suggestive of multifocal hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Case Discussion

US of the abdomen was performed which reveals a large mass in segment 6 of the liver. Further evaluation of the liver utilizing quadriphasic protocol was performed. The liver is cirrhotic with multifocal hepatocellular carcinomas. The largest seen in segment 6 corresponding to the US findings.
