Hepatomegaly with multiple secondaries

Presentation

RUQ pain.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

Abdominal radiograph reveals a paucity of bowel gas markings within the right side of the abdomen and the left upper quadrant. Bowel gas pattern is otherwise unremarkable with no evidence of obstruction on supine images.

CT reveals marked hepatomegaly with numerous large hypodense lesions concerning for metastatic disease. Colonoscopy revealed sigmoid colon lesion, biopsy revealed adenocarcioma primary.

Case Discussion

Gross hepatomegaly can often be identified on abdominal radiograph.

Metastases is a common cause of hepatomegaly.
